US election, Biden inauguration
According to reports, US election ends，the US Presidential Inaugural Committee stated that Biden and Harris will be sworn in on the west side of the Capitol on January 20, 2021. Biden will deliver an inaugural speech, explaining his vision of fighting the epidemic, rebuilding and uniting the country.
The committee stated that the scale of the ceremony will be limited, and the inaugural procession after the ceremony will be different from before. The committee urged Americans not to travel to Washington to participate in celebrations, but to participate in virtual forms.
At present, the number of confirmed cases of the new crown in the United States has exceeded 16.65 million, and the cumulative number of deaths has exceeded 300,000. David Kessler, the committee’s chief medical adviser, said, “We require Americans to watch the inauguration at home to protect themselves, their families, friends and communities.”
An event will be added before the inauguration this year. It is planned to hold a ceremony in the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial on the evening of January 19 to mourn the people who lost their lives in the United States in the new crown epidemic.
The presidential inauguration usually invites hundreds of dignitaries to attend, and at least hundreds of thousands of spectators flock to the National Mall to witness the ceremony.
