The exploration No 2 ship to arrive at Nanshan Port of Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, which is officially listed.China’s deep-sea scientific research adds another weapon.

Exploration No 2 ship China’s first manned submersible supporting and supporting mother ship equipped with localized scientific research operation equipment. It was obtained from a marine engineering ship after a year and a half of transformation. The total length of the ship is 87.2 meters, and the full load displacement is 6800 tons , Equipped with two full-turn rudder propellers and two bow thrusters, using all-electric propulsion, with an endurance greater than 15,000 nautical miles.

In terms of scientific research equipment, exploration No 2 ship is equipped with 100-ton A-frame and deep-submersible deployment and recovery devices, deep-sea multi-beam, deep-sea geology, photoelectric and CTD (temperature and salinity detector) winch systems. There are multiple deep-sea mobile laboratories in the ship, covering various professional directions such as geology, chemistry, biology, etc. It can carry 60 scientific research team members to carry out sea trial tasks at the same time.

It is understood that the exploration No 2 ship scientific research vessel can carry the 10,000-meter manned submersible “Struggler” and the 4500-meter manned submersible “Deep Sea Warrior”. Recently, the two submersibles will be adapted to the ship. The “Struggler” has completed the pool test earlier, after simulating a variety of working conditions in the marine environment, it is reported that the submersible performance is good and the state is stable.

In recent years, the Chinese scientific research team has continued to enter the field of deep-sea research. The “Jiaolong” manned submersible has now reached a dive depth of 7000 meters; China’s self-developed underwater unmanned equipment has repeatedly dived to 10,000 meters underwater; three years ago, researchers challenged the Mariana Trench The Abyss successfully launched the deep-sea subsea seismograph and completed two 10,000-meter artificial seismic profile lines, making China the first country in the world to obtain 10,000-meter marine artificial seismic profile data.
